Backup & Disaster Recovery

Backups

Alaska I.T. Consulting offers backup solutions tailored to meet your needs. We combine onsite and offsite backups by following the 3-2-1 backup strategy. This backup strategy maintains three copies of your data (your production data and two backup copies), on two types of media, with one offsite backup.

We utilize Synology servers for onsite backups to help protect your data from ransomware, viruses, security breaches and accidental deletion by isolating the Synology server from the network. Synology servers are an inexpensive backup storage option that can easily scale up in storage as your needs grow.

For offsite backup storage we use Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage. Wasabi is a cost effective cloud storage solution that allows us to create immutable backups. These special backups are protected from being changed or deleted for a set period of time and are important for protecting against ransomware and other cyber threats.

Disaster Recovery

As cybercrime and security breaches have become more sophisticated, businesses must define their data recovery and protection strategies in a Disaster Recovery plan to handle incidents and reduce downtime. We can help you create a comprehensive Disaster Recovery plan that describes how your company can quickly resume operations after an unplanned incident. Secure Remote Access

If you need to work from home or while on the road, we can provide you with safe and secure Remote Access. We use Fortigate Routers to protect your network perimeter and Forticlient VPN software that employs MFA (muti-factor authentication) for all remote connections to the office.

Our other Remote Access solution is Splashtop. Splashtop is a secure, high-performance Remote Access program designed to directly connect to your computer at work from any Windows, Mac, iOS, Android or Chromebook device.

Migrate To The Cloud

If you need to move your servers or services to the cloud we can help. We can migrate your email, files or other network services to the cloud using Microsoft 365.
